Head of Centre's Welcome

At Sawley Support Centre, our aim is to provide students with the opportunity to gain relevant qualifications as well as life skills to prepare them for the future. We strive to embed respect and understanding, equipping students with the ability to tolerate and accept others. We promote independence and self-belief as well as teamwork and cooperation with a strong emphasis on health and well-being.
Students are taught various subjects on site as well as having the opportunity to access vocational learning provided by Local Authority approved education providers. Students can learn academic and practical skills that can lead them into further education, training and employment. Students have Personal, Social and Emotional development integrated throughout their timetable. They can study GCSEs including Maths, English, English Literature, Art and Geography alongside vocational short courses and Functional Skills qualifications.
As well gaining relevant qualifications and experience, students prepare for Post 16 through the PSE curriculum and through working closely with local colleges and providers.
Whilst at Sawley Support Centre all staff work hard to develop positive relationships with students and their families to help students benefit from the adults in their lives working together to support them. Students are encouraged to look ahead to the future and make the most of the opportunities that Sawley Support Centre provides.
Through providing high quality teaching, coupled with a bespoke and varied timetable tailored to the needs of each individual, students leave Sawley Support Centre ready for their next step.
